Mr Patoulis, Governor of the Region of Attica with Mr Mouzakis, President of the Chefs Club of Attica “Acropolis”.

A few days ago, the Region of Attica and the Chefs Club of Attica “Acropolis”, signed a Cooperation Agreement in order to promote the gastronomic tourism of Attica.
As Mr Patoulis, Governor of the Region of Attica, explained: “We have to focus on the day after the pandemic with actions that will highlight the competitive advantages of our region, like its rich gastronomy. With this cooperation we aim to develop and promote the gastronomic tourism of Attica as an important driver for the growth and the dynamic restart of the local communities.”
For that reason, Mr Patoulis signed the Agreement together with the President of the Chefs Club of Attica, Mr K. Mouzakis, acknowledging the need to launch joint actions that will strengthen and promote the gastronomic identity of the region. Additionally, Mr. Mouzakis recognized Mr Patoulis’ ongoing support, welcomed him as an Honorary Member of the Club and gave him a symbolic gift depicting the Acropolis, whilst also noting himself the need to highlight the special gastronomic identity of Attica.
The socially distanced signing ceremony was also attended by the General Secretary of the Club Mr N. Daoutis, the member of the Club Mr Th. Karaindros and the appointed regional tourism counselor, Mr Th. Koutsogiannopoulos.

Provisions of the Cooperation Agreement

The object of the Cooperation Agreement is the collection, assessment and elaboration of proposals to decide on the optimal way to develop and promote the gastronomic and wine tourism of Attica, while also the planning and implementation of actions in areas related to safety, quality, sustainability, as well as the marketing of agri-food products of the Region. Namely:

· The exchange of information and data for the planning of targeted new actions in order to highlight the gastronomic heritage of Attica, for the subsequent promotion of the gastronomic tourism of the Region as well as Attica’s agricultural products to the Greek and international public.

· The cooperation in order to prepare a digital gastronomic map of Attica and the development of original content for the official Tourism website of the Region, www.athensattica.com.

· The exchange of best international practices, in the context of a balanced and sustainable tourism development for the Region of Attica, with respect to the protection of all its resources.

· The cooperation for the planning and implementation of actions that will enhance the recognition of local products by consumers all across the world, due to their competitive advantages.
