FOOD EXPO 2020 to highlight organic products

On March 7–9 thousands of Food and Beverage processing industry professionals will gather for FOOD EXPO in Athens, Greece. Attendees will have access to an expansive show floor filled with the latest foodstuff, services and innovations, as well as many exciting special events and networking opportunities. FOOD EXPO is the largest trade show in Southeast Europe dedicated to food and drinks.
FOOD EXPO’s international visibility together with the universal acceptance it enjoys by the entirety of the Greek market, reflects the dynamics of the industry’s productive sector as well as the tremendous prospects of Greek F&B exports worldwide,” said Mr Nikos Choudalakis, CEO of Forum SA, organizer of the trade show.

The new organic products section

Following the global surge in organic products demand, there have been renewed efforts to reap the benefits of the ever-growing trend. Furthermore, the organic F&B market is growing strong in Greece, after a long period of inactivity. Organic food consumption is widely associated with the introduction of ethical concerns in business, the uprising of consumerism and environmentalism in Europe, and, most importantly, the emergence of scandals associated with the food industry, which have –thankfully– not plagued the Greek food sector. In fact, Greece could be considered an “organic-friendly” country since it is GMO-free, while many farmers tend to follow centuries-old traditions for the growing of their crops.
FOOD EXPO responds to this new market need by introducing the “Bio Section”, exclusively targeted at organic products. Exhibitors in the FOOD EXPO Bio Section will be able to present their products and make contacts with Greek and international food traders interested in including organic food and beverages in their businesses.

A comprehensive Hosted Buyer Program

FOOD EXPO 2020 is expected to attract more than 5,000 buyers from all across the world, confirming once again its international profile. In addition, approximately 950 of those traders will be part of the show’s Hosted Buyer Program that brings qualified key buyers and sellers together with a high likelihood to book real business with each other through pre-arranged face-to-face B2B meetings –in fact, 18,000 meetings are expected to take place at FOOD EXPO 2020 during the course of the show.
