Region of Ionian Islands & Enterprise Greece to promote the region’s F&B

The Region of Ionian Islands, Enterprise Greece (an organization which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is designed to promote the vast natural and human resources of the country and expand the significant export potential of Greece’s manufacturing, agricultural, cultural heritage, and service sectors) and the Agrofood Cooperative of the Ionian Islands Region have signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote business opportunities and the unique food products of the region in international markets.
The Memorandum was signed on 20 December by Regional Prefect Ms. Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou, Enterprise Greece CEO Mr. Georgios Filiopoulos, and Chairman of the Board of the Agrofood Cooperative of the Ionian Islands Region, Mr. Nikolaos Mouzakitis.
The goal is to showcase to the world business community, among other things, the Ionian Islands as a center for entrepreneurialism in the wider Mediterranean; to support the outward orientation of the small-and medium-sized enterprises of the region; and to strengthen the competitiveness and development of food and beverage products of the Ionian through joint studies, research and programs.
The Regional Prefect, Ms Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou emphasized the important the role of Enterprise Greece in promoting the region internationally through its marketing and business development programs, as well as through its network of domestic and overseas organizations.
